Dr. Hexin Dong is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Population Health Sciences at Weill Cornell Medicine (WCM). His research primarily focuses on medical image analysis, particularly image segmentation, prognosis, and out-of-distribution segmentation. He leverages advanced deep learning techniques to enhance the diagnosis and prognosis of ocular and pancreatic diseases. Dr. Dong has published over 17 papers, including 6 first-author publications in top medical-ai related conferences such as CVPR, IJCAI, IPMI, MICCAI, and ISBI. His doctoral research at Peking University emphasized methodologies in image segmentation and disease prognosis, which continue to guide his research trajectory. Since joining WCM, his work has primarily concentrated on prognostic modeling, including both Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) and glaucoma management, with the aim of improving early risk stratification and guiding clinical decision-making.
