A Postdoctoral Associate position is available in Dr. Yifan Peng’s laboratory in the Division of Health Informatics and Artificial Intelligence, Department of Population Health Sciences at Weill Cornell Medicine. The laboratory conducts research at the intersection of artificial intelligence and healthcare, with a particular focus on developing and applying computational approaches to biomedical text and medical imaging data. Our goal is to advance clinical research and improve patient care through innovative data-driven methods.
Qualifications
Applicants must have training with a strong emphasis on text mining or medical image analysis. Preference will be given to individuals with expertise in large-scale data analysis, machine learning, or modeling, as well as those with a strong interest in healthcare or the life sciences. The position is open to graduating Ph.D. and M.D./Ph.D. students in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Health Informatics, or a related field. Current postdoctoral fellows with fewer than three years of postdoctoral experience are also encouraged to apply.
Appointments are initially for one year. The positions can be extended for one or two additional years at the end of the first year based on performance. Stipends are commensurate with research experience and education.

Yifan Peng, Ph.D., FACMI, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Population Health Sciences at Weill Cornell Medicine and Deputy Director of the Cornell Institute of AI for Digital Health. His research focuses on biomedical natural language processing (BioNLP) and medical image analysis. He has published extensively in leading venues in artificial intelligence and healthcare informatics, and his research has been supported by federal agencies, including the NIH and NSF, as well as industry partners such as Amazon and Google. He was elected a Fellow of the American College of Medical Informatics (FACMI) in 2024.
